Laser surgery is an operation that provides clear vision by correcting corneal refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism through a laser device. Laser technology has been used for many years in the treatment of eye diseases.
Depending on the patient’s age and eye condition, the types of lasers applied differ.
Lens replacement surgery, also sometimes called refractive lens exchange, involves surgically replacing the eye’s natural lens with an artificial implant, or IOL (intraocular lens). At OCL, it can be carried out manually or with the use of a high precision femtosecond laser.
Cataract surgery is performed to correct cataract-related vision loss. During surgery, the dulled lens inside your eye is replaced with a clear artificial lens. Cataract surgery itself is painless. A normal cataract surgery does not take long, it takes about 15 minutes. It is usually an outpatient procedure and does not require a hospital stay.
